Pella Corporation celebrated its 100th anniversary with team members, leadership, retirees and community members on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. During the event, held at the company’s headquarters in Pella, Iowa, leaders shared remarks on the company’s growth from a small, local operation in 1925 to a national leader in windows and doors.
Investing in People, Communities
Pete Kuyper, Pella’s co-founder, hoped to create jobs for the people in the small, Dutch immigrant community of Pella, IA. The best way to create jobs was to create a manufacturing business in the town, leading him to invest in his idea of a window that rolls up like a shade.
Over the last century, Pella has grown to a family of brands with more than 10,000 team members across sales branches, install hubs, and 18 manufacturing sites nationwide.
“The heart of Pella isn’t just in our products or innovations—it’s in the people who make them possible. It’s their passion, creativity and expertise that inspire us to push boundaries and continue to create brighter futures for the next generation and beyond,” said Tim Yaggi, Chief Executive Officer, Pella Corporation.
A Century of Growth
Over the past century, the company has:
- Invested in people through career growth, development opportunities, and fostering a culture of collaboration and best practice sharing.
- Received recognition as the leading innovator in the window and door category, earning notable industry awards, securing spots on top innovation lists, while pioneering more than 150 product and design patents.
- Built a family of brands that includes a comprehensive product portfolio providing customers with a broad selection of high-quality windows and doors for their home.
- Grown its manufacturing footprint to 18 manufacturing facilities, continuously improving its production processes and ensuring reliable delivery and high-quality products for customers.
Looking Ahead
“Since 1925, remarkable growth and innovation have shaped our story—and through it all, the care and passion of our people has remained our greatest strength. With our fighting spirit and bold imagination, we will continue to dream big, reimagine what’s possible and build a brighter future for our team members and customers,” said Emily Videtto, President and Chief Operating Officer, Pella Corporation.
Celebrating the Centennial
To commemorate this milestone, Pella will host a series of events throughout 2025, including celebrations across their facilities, employee appreciation events and increasing charitable support.
The company will celebrate with the community of Pella during the 90th Annual Tulip Time Festival this spring. The company will host a grand opening of its newly redesigned Pella Museum. At the event, community members can ride on a new city trolley, a commemorative gift from the Pella Rolscreen Foundation to Pella Historical Foundation. Later this year, Pella will welcome visitors to the newly revamped Pella Plaza at the Iowa State fairgrounds.
