Over 75 individuals showed up on a cold night, but the warmth and goodwill was certainly in abundance as the members celebrated the past, present and future of NEW NARI..
FORMER EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR RETIRES
Executive Director for the past 7 years, Cheryl Kaczmarek is retiring at the end of the month. Her tenure with the National Association of the Remodeling Industry started in April of 2017 as a Member Representative for FOX CITIES Magazine. After a couple of years of volunteering on the Marketing Committee, the Board asked her to step into the chapter executive role on the departure of Susan Fassbender in March of 2019. Susan and her husband Gary moved to Rhode Island. in June of 2019.
Under Cheryl’s watch, the organization petitioned NARI National to be chartered in all 18 counties of the NEW North and to change its name from NARI Fox Valley serving 3 counties to NARI of North East Wisconsin, dba NEW NARI. The Board grew from 5 members to 11; the membership grew from 24 to now close to 80 organizations; attendance grew from 15 to as many as 107 for monthly events. Marketing for the organization also expanded to include social media, billboards and co-op spreads in FOX CITIES Magazine as well as three City Guides: Fox Valley, Oshkosh and now DePere. The website was completely overhauled to be more homeowner-friendly in 2022.
NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TAKES THE REINS
It was also a time to celebrate transitions as new Executive Director Lindsey Dix takes over this month! Lindsey brings a wealth of experience, talents and organizational skills from her roles in Human Resources for large corporations as well as small businesses. She even owns her own HR consulting company called Roots HR, a fractional HR service devoted to helping small businesses who do not have a full-time HR Dept. Lindsey also volunteers with many community organizations like Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce, secretary of the Fox Valley SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) and the president of Wisconsin Women’s Collective (formerly Mid-Day Woman’s Alliance).
