We are excited to share an update on the progress of the Youth Build since our groundbreaking. Our Menasha High School students have been hard at work, gaining valuable hands-on experience and making great strides in construction.
Over the past few weeks, their learning journey has been impressive:
Framing: On their first day, students learned the essential fundamentals of framing skills and wall construction, with guidance from our experienced Senior Crew.
Raising the Roof: The students got to observe a step-by-step process, as Consolidated Construction and Senior Crew set trusses and raised the roof!
Window Installation: Students worked directly with NEW NARI member Tri City Glass & Door, learning about proper window handling and installation techniques.
Roofing Expertise: They finished this week strong with American Quality Homes & Malarkey Roofing Products, gaining valuable knowledge on quality shingles and professional roofing installation.
It’s been a busy few weeks and educational time for our students. The students will also be providing an open house, student-led tour on November 14th, andmore information will be available as we get closer, so please mark your calendars!
“Our partnership with NEW NARI is what makes this all possible, and we are so grateful for your continued support and want to thank you again!” said Nadine Janik, Gift In Kind Program Manager with Fox Cities’ Habitat For Humanity.
