NEW NARI member Timber Innovations received the 2025 NARI Milwaukee RotY Gold Award for their Contemporary Lake Home entry.

The original design of this lakeside home featured a pseudo-classical European design popular in the 1980s, with high arches, intricate metal balustrades, and solid wooden cabinetry. The lake view from the wall of windows was obstructed by some of the original design elements. The owner wanted a simple, clean design that didn’t distract from the natural beauty that surrounds the home, creating a peaceful retreat for his family.
Highlights of the Remodel:
- The open floor plan seamlessly connects the dining room, kitchen, and living room, allowing the family to stay connected while enjoying separate spaces.
- One-of-a-kind, custom-made wet bar will still be the center of attention with a reclaimed tin tile backsplash, Quartz countertop, wine fridge, ice maker, and beverage center.
- Showstopping custom-designed kitchen island made of Spalted Maple and zinc, reminiscent of a hand-hewn boat.
- Unique lighting element created by the architect using the skeleton of an antique canoe, wrapped in canvas.
- Luxurious walk-in shower and driftwood lighting element in the primary bathroom.
I also have to compliment you on your presentation. There was a lot going on with this presentation and by lettering the spaces, it was easy to follow. Thank you!
