The number of kitchen and bathroom remodels they’re tackling is also on the rise.
Another trend that architects identified is increased work involving accessory dwelling units (ADUs), with 62% of respondents noting growth in these types of projects. Interestingly, architects identified a slight decrease in the number of projects involving finished basements and attic spaces.
One surprising trend noted in the survey is a decrease in projects focused on universal design and aging in place. This finding runs counter to what those working in the design-build space have reported, according to a Pro Remodeler survey. Those findings revealed that 85% of respondents noted increased interest in this type of remodeling work, and a significant 92% said they are actively seeking out universal design projects.
